experienced, highly motivated IT Manager in Boise, Idaho to lead a
team of talented Network Engineers who maintain a diverse and
expanding global network. We are looking for a leader with the
ability to mentor and develop critical talent while driving
technical engineering strategies in support of Simplot's network
connectivity and infrastructure requirements. -- As a pillar of the
Infrastructure Operations and Services organization, the Network
Engineering team designs, implements and manages secure
connectivity solutions which support Simplot's current and future
business demands. Must be in Boise, ID or willing to relocate.Key
Responsibilities
- Manage the performance and development of a network engineer
team consisting of engineers with a diverse level of technical
expertise.
- Develop innovative and forward-looking network technology
roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements,
resourcing, and financial constraints.
- Drive a portfolio of projects, activities, processes, and
initiatives to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved.
- Implement global network technology solutions that are cost
effective, resilient, scalable, and meet availability and
performance expectations.--
- Ensure all activities and metrics associated with the health,
performance, and reliability of all network components and services
in the global network, including capacity planning, availability,
and performance are tracked and reported.
- Ensure new and existing network solutions meet Simplot's
Information Security standards and policies across enterprise and
manufacturing business environments.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and ensure best
practices are utilized and aligned with the overall organizational
and business strategies.
- Oversee change management and audit activities associated with
the network environment including documentation, maintenance, and
operational procedures.
- Provide timely update of projects and issues to senior
management.
- Drive the adoption of development and release practices to
deliver Infrastructure as code / configuration as code and network
automation.
- Accountable for financial management of a global network budget
and manage the portfolio of network vendor and partner
relationships.Typical EducationBachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.)
from 4 year college or universityRelevant Experience10+ years

- 10+ years related experience
- Demonstrated experience in global enterprise networking
environments
- Experience leading a technical team and guiding/mentoring
individual contributors
- Strong understanding of current and emerging security
principles and methods
- Strong understanding of ITIL, CMDB, capacity, service and
change management
- Strong understanding of wireless technologies, including
wireless security and network authentication services
- Strong understanding and experience with data/voice network
technologies and solutions
- Strong understanding of firewall, VPN, and IPS/IDS
technologies
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud networking and security
(LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, SaaS, SASE, Azure, AWS)
- Strong understanding of local/global load balancing, proxy, and
application delivery controller technologies
- MADO experience and understanding of complex network
integrations
- Experience working with a TEM for onboarding and managing
telecom expenses, assets, and invoices
- Understanding of automation, CI/CD, and configuration/source
management
- Excellent communication and business engagement skills
- Strive to continuously learn and evolve both leadership and
technical skills
- Desire to work across a challenging, global environment
